The Rangers side to face St Johnstone in Sunday’s Premiership noon encounter has been revealed with a familar look for the visitors.
In what has to be the first of three wins this week, Giovanni van Bronckhorst correctly goes with the aim of building momentum following on from the positive victory over Aberdeen last Saturday.
Importantly, Ben Davies has made it back into the team following his absence against Ajax in midweek meaning apart from Ridvan, Gio goes with the same team as last weekend. It is the right call given where the squad is just now with injuries and lack of options.
McGregor – Tavernier, King, Davies, Barisic – Sands, Lundstram, Tillman – Sakala, Kent, Colak.

Whilst the approach of Callum Davidson’s team will vary significantly from the one presented in the last league game by Jim Goodwin, Rangers must seek to impose all that was good against Aberdeen into this match. There was a desire and an urgency that prevailed past the opening goal at Ibrox to level then dominate that fixture. That energy will go a long way today at a venue that rarely produces a thrilling outcome from a Gers perspective, the players will know that they are in for a contest.
The dovetailing of Lundstram and Sands will be interesting, particularly if the Scouser gets forward again to good effect in the ‘8’ role, supporting the attack to good effect.
Kick-off is at 12 noon – come on the Rangers!
