Michael Beale today revealed that there is some concern around his midfield options for Saturday’s game at Livingston.

The manager was speaking from New Edmiston House, followed by Ianis Hagi providing the player’s perspective, at the regular press conference ahead of this weekend’s action.

It looks like a late decision could be made for the trip to West Lothian, with Beale stating:

“It’s a mixed bag really, this week. John Lundstram’s touch and go, we had a slight issue with Connor (Goldson) last week so we gave him the rest for the game (Partick), he was there if we needed him. Nico Raskin had some issues after the game, Ryan Jack’s got a little bit, there’s no-one else coming back right now so we’ll see how we go after training tomorrow.”

“It’s all a little bit up in the air in terms of selection, right now, but we’ll go there with a strong squad regardless of who is available.”

Presumably, Glen Kamara is fit and fine so that option is retained. Otherwise, it is far from ideal to hear the manager list the issues relating to the others such as Raskin, Lundstram and Jack. Scott Arfield was not involved in the squad against Partick Thistle so there could be a requirement for Malik Tillman to drop back into the ‘8’ role for Saturday’s Premiership clash against Davie Martindale’s side.

An abundance of choices are available to Rangers in the final third as well as having three strikers fit and firing.

It is great that Antonio Colak was back amongst the goals last weekend whilst Kemar Roofe is said to be flying in training. The presence of those two should spur on Alfredo Morelos to maintain his presence as the main man up top, especially with the massive Old Firm final just around the corner.
