Antonio Čolak is already making plenty of headlines in a Rangers shirt, given his excellent start to life at Ibrox in both domestic and European competitions.

Over the last week, he has enjoyed the highs of Champions League qualification in Eindhoven followed up by a routine Premiership victory at home to Ross County. On both occasions, the Croatian international has been in form and in the right place to add to his goal tally as well as his reputation.

A rest is likely to come for the German-born striker against Queen of the South on Tuesday evening before he gets the first experience of the Old Firm derby on Saturday, the stage upon which Rangers players can earn genuine affection as well as judgement.

Just how far can Colak go in terms of his total for this season? Already he has silenced plenty of doubters with the red hot streak of form showing no sign of slowing down. The good news for Rangers is that the games will continue to come, thick and fast.

With seven goals on the record sheet in only the first month of the season, the Croatian was asked how much he is enjoying his football at present:

“I’m enjoying it so much. I just try to keep working hard and take this wave. For me, as a striker, it means so much and to score so many goals in this short period, it couldn’t be better as a new player.”

“I just want to continue like that and keep pushing.”

Antonio Colak is certainly pushing in different directions, leading the line, impressing and taking over the mantle from Alfredo Morelos with the minimum of fuss. Long may it last.
