Rangers and Northern Ireland star Megan Bell has signed a new contract with the Ibrox club, it has been revealed today.

The former Linfield player has penned a 12-month extension, tieing her to the Gers until the Summer of 2022.

Bell, currently on the comeback trail following a serious injury, will see this development as a massive boost – a further incentive for her ambitions, coming soon after the Northern Ireland team secured their place at EURO2022.

Now her focus can fully return to her fitness and getting back out on the pitch, as she appears very eager to do.

RangersTV quoted Bell following confirmation of the deal, stating:

“I am delighted, I feel like I am in the right place for me at the minute and I am loving every second of my time here so I am really pleased.”

“It is massive for me, it is the club I support and the club I love and to sign here for a bit longer is great and I am going to cherish every minute of it.”

“I am still very young and I know I have got so much to learn. I’m in the right place for my development and my learning and I can’t wait to get back on the pitch and get going again.”

Tomorrow afternoon, Rangers Women face a top of the table clash against Glasgow City – who lead the Gers by three points.

A win for Malky Thomson’s side will see them go joint top at a pivotal stage of the season.

The game is live on BBC Alba, with a 4.10pm kick-off.
