It was being reported yesterday that Rangers had finally made a pre-contract move for a rumour mill favourite the last few months, Kilmarnock winger Jordan Jones.

The 24-year-old has long been linked with a move to Rangers and the rumour mill speculation did kick up as the January window neared but that was to be expected and with the assumption made on our interest, the main question was, would we prioritise the summer or try and get a deal done this month.

Sky Sports claimed yesterday that we had now made a move for the Northern Ireland international and had proposed a pre-contract deal with his existing deal expiring this coming summer.

Kilmarnock are apparently aware of our approach and are presumably waiting to see what happens now.

The player has played a key part in Killie’s success this season and having joined them from Middlesbrough back in 2016, he now boasts 74 appearances to his name with a return of nine goals.

If a pre-contract is agreed, the speculation will then turn to pressure being put on for a deal to take place now I would imagine.
