‘Class team’ – Rangers fans are reacting to the first starting eleven of the Gerrard era

The UEFA Europa League trophy

Excitement is building for Rangers’ first competitive match at Ibrox under the management of Steven Gerrard.

We are just over an hour away from a sold-out crowd cheering on the Gers against Macedonian minnows FK Shkupi in UEFA Europa League qualifying and the teams have been announced.

There are little surprises when it comes to the Rangers starting eleven, with Gerrard going for the exact line-up that played Bury in a friendly last Friday night.

The team were on blistering form then and it’ll be interesting to see if they can match that intensity with the pressure ramped up a bit and the crowd 10,000 bodies heavier.

Supporters are desperate to see the side make a statement and put one foot into the next round of qualifying, especially after last summer’s disastrous European ‘campaign’.

With six new signings in tonight’s line-up, it definitely feels like the beginning of a new era.

Fans are loving Gerrard’s first starting eleven, taking to Twitter to share their thoughts on it all…
