Rangers have officially announced the signing of Motherwell winger Jake Hastie today.

The 20-year-old has long been linked with a move to Ibrox, with fans eagerly awaiting the deal officially being done.

The club say he will join on a four-year deal from the summer having put pen to paper on a pre-contract agreement.

Hastie has emerged has one of the best young players in the country since January, scoring seven goals in 14 appearances for the Steelmen, showing good enough form to be nominated for this season’s PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year award by his peers.

Possessing pace and power, he will give the Rangers flanks a fresh look next season and could potentially replace Ryan Kent or Daniel Candeias in Steven Gerrard’s starting eleven.

He’s an exciting talent and surrounded by better players and coaches at Rangers should flourish even more than he has done over the last 12 months.

Supporters are delighted by the announcement, taking to Twitter earlier today to share their thoughts…
