Pedro Caixinha has said that the team celebration following Daniel Candeias’ goal against Hamilton showed the togetherness in the team.

Having fallen a goal behind in the first minute, Rangers responded with a Declan John brace, Candeias finding the net and Graham Dorrans finishing the scoring off in the four one win

The boss was obviously delighted with the return of all three points and he admitted he was thankful for Candeias leading the team to the bench to celebrate his strike.

Speaking to the Official Site as he met with the media for his post game press conference, Caixinha explained.

‘I think the boys did a good job in this match today. I am pleased with the performance because after the first ten minutes we did very good, we got in the game after almost losing the game. Daniel`s celebration was to do with the feelings they felt and the emotions of the game. He said everything, he said you bring me here and I am here to play for you and all the others came on his back. Those are the moments when you feel the gratitude and that sort of connection and you don`t need to say anything. I am very pleased he could score again.’

Caixinha went on to say.

‘They had a very good reaction as a team knowing that everybody can commit mistakes and everybody can get away with those mistakes and move forward and that is what they did. They played some brilliant football in moments of the game, in let`s say 20 minutes of the first-half and in the second-half when Jack was sent off things were more difficult for us to do what we wanted. It was difficult to exploit the space in the second-half when we were down to 10 men because we were always going to be exposed.’

Adding.

‘The boys once again got united, got together and know how to defend the result and how to defend one block with some mistakes here and there. But the final result is what counts and we win 4-1. I am like this today because I have a fever and I am sick. I am a warrior but sometimes the warriors are also sick. I had my eyes and thoughts on the game and that is what really matters. The boys did their job for me and I am pleased for all of them.’

With four goals, a sending half and a late penalty save from Wed Foderingham, the match certainly had it’s talking points but Declan John came in for particular praise following his first career brace.

‘Declan is a boy who is came here like he is in pre-season so that is why you saw a different Declan between the first and second-half. He (John) is a boy full of energy, full of positive thoughts and football and always looking to go forward. The proof of that is not only the arrivals he did but the two goals he scored. He is someone who is going to help us for sure in the near future.’

The Portuguese went on to say.

‘Wes made some great saves when those mistakes I mentioned happened. He stopped a penalty so it was good for his confidence between the posts. It is a second yellow card, the boys were discussing it and I think he is trying to get on the action and he takes the foot out and maybe the referee saw it in that direction. That was his decision and we need to respect that.’
