Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has named his starting eleven for today’s Scottish Premiership match at Ibrox against St Mirren.

With the games coming thick and fast early in the season, the boss has opted to make a number of changes from Thurday night’s energy sapping clash against NK Maribor, with one eye on the away leg this coming Thursday.

Borna Barisic will make his debut, a Croatian defender who joined the club last week, with the likes of Jamie Murphy and Ross McCrorie also coming into the side.

James Tavernier has been benched as a result, likely rested, with Jon Flanagan switching sides to play at right-back.

It’ll be interesting to see the team go up against Premiership new boys St Mirren, who got their return to the top-flight off to the perfect start last week with a win against Dundee.

Can the Gers move onto four points after their draw at Pittodrie last Sunday?

Rangers fans are delighted with Gerrard’s decision to give Barisic a start, eager to see the international in action after being impressed with his recent performances for UEFA Europa League foes Osijek.
