BT Sport pundit and former Celtic striker Chris Sutton is never one to shy away from putting the put into Rangers and this season has been quicker than usual in offering a sly dig in the face of a strong challenge from Steven Gerrard’s side.

His latest prediction is perhaps one of his most bizarre yet though, believing that Aberdeen will finish second Celtic in the Scottish Premiership, leaving Rangers fighting it out for third position.

As quoted by The Daily Record, he said of the final table positions: “It changes all the time but right now it’s Celtic first, Aberdeen second and Rangers third – on goal difference.”

It’s obviously the case that Aberdeen have finished above us for the last two seasons, but this term we are a different animal and have shown we can pick up big results when needed.

With the addition of players like Steven Davis and Jermain Defoe we will hopefully be able to stop dropping silly points against lesser opposition.

Also, does Sutton really think that Kilmarnock, the most consistent top-flight in the 2018 calendar year, will finish fourth? Not likely in my book.

Whether this is just another cheap dig at Rangers or his actual opinion is unknown, but no doubt the former Celtic man will flip flop on Scottish football matters next week.
