Rangers Word On The Tweet

‘Bring him home’, ‘We need you’ – Many fans of English club would love to see Rangers star sign up

Sunderland fans seem keen on bringing Rangers striker Jermain Defoe back to the Stadium of Light after he was spotted at their home match against Burton Albion on Tuesday night.

Defoe massively impressed Gers supporters with his performance for Steven Gerrard’s side on Sunday against Motherwell, combining superbly with Scott Arfield in a 3-0 win.

It now looks like fans of the Black Cats want a bit of that as they battle to win promotion from English League One.

The veteran striker scored 37 goals in 93 appearances for the club back when they were in the Premier League, one of the bright shining lights in the team during a fairly miserable time to be a Sunderland supporter.

Announced as being in attendance by the official Sunderland Twitter account on Tuesday, fans couldn’t help but plead with the player to make his return to England.

Unfortunately for them, his loan deal at Ibrox runs for another season and it’s likely he’ll continue to work under Steven Gerrard until then.
