An online report on Friday afternoon suggested that Premier League Brighton are tracking Rangers’ Ryan Kent including a scouting mission to Ibrox last weekend to run the rule over the player.

As can be seen below, the claim was made by Turkish journalist and transfer ‘specialist’ Ekrem Konur with no other info provided.

This isn’t the most reliable of sources, nor has the link been picked up by any UK writers or mainstream outlets so it would be wise to take this particular story with caution.

Kent is currently playing through a rather difficult period with his performances not doing his full ability justice at all.

The winger is currently a shadow of the player he was previously and can be, just another factor of the present malaise of this Rangers side under Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

As things stand, the 26-year old is out of contract at the end of season therefore he will be able to speak to any interested clubs as of January.

Ross Wilson and Rangers are supposedly still in negotiations with Kent as well as Alfredo Morelos but the recent form of the pair will hardly be endearing them to any potential suitors. On his game, Kent does have the potential to play n the Premier League as well as needing to improve in certain areas but right now, he is so far off such a scenario.

It is an ongoing saga but neither Kent or Rangers are benefiting, leading up to a very sensitive time with the turn of the year opening up the void for further speculation. The bigger picture at Ibrox will be evolving in those weeks ahead so expect a few more twists and turns before the winger’s future is decided.
