With a number of positives to take from Rangers 1-1 draw with Aberdeen at the weekend as we opened the 2018/19 Premiership campaign with a point, one of Steven Gerrard’s new signings certainly came in for plenty of praise following the fulltime whistle.

Rangers’ failure to get the second goal on the day to really kill the game off came back to bite us with the hosts finding a late leveller, but with so many positives and having spent the majority of the match with only ten men following Alfredo Morelos’ stupid but harsh sending off, few were unhappy following the game.

If anything the major emotion was disappointment at not taking all three points as we had more than warranted them.

There were a number of standout performances in the side, and new signing Lassana Coulibaly was certainly one player who caught the eye for his efforts in the middle of the park. The 22-year-old was only making his third appearance after arriving on loan from Angers but some feel the youngster has a great shot at being our Player of the Year already.
