Madjid Bougherra has again pledged to stay at Rangers until at least the end of the season.

The Algerian international has been viewed by many as ‘working his ticket’ by continually going AWOL on the way back from international duty, much to the dismay of manager Walter Smith. Bougherra has not started a game for Rangers in some 8 weeks due to a combination of injury and his games for Algeria.

A recent bust-up with Kenny Miller at training only heightened speculation that the defender could be on the move, but the former Charlton star has played down the incident. He said: ‘We certainly had an altercation but this happens all the time at clubs across the world.

‘I want the Algerian people to know I have no problem with anyone in Glasgow, let alone coach Walter Smith, who still counts on me. To change clubs at this time of year would be disruptive.’

What are your thoughts? With Danny Wilson doing so well, would you like to see Bougherra sold and the team strengthened once some debt is paid off?
