Pitiful bid for Rangers star revealed with seven figure Premier League offer rejected

|

Leeds United are proving to be something of a pain for Rangers fans after it emerged that not only are they trying to lure Ryan Kent but that Borna Barisic is also a target for the Premier League new boys.

Reports originating in Croatia claim that a bid of around £8million for the left-back had been rejected by Rangers earlier in the summer.

Barisic will line up for his country in the international break and for an English club to think they can get a player of his quality at the price being mentioned is a sign of the arrogance that still exists, despite the likes of Kieran Tierney costing Arsenal £25m.

He has been a key player for Steven Gerrard since football resumed and has continued his excellent form from last season with one stunning free-kick goal and three assists, playing almost as a winger in a Rangers side that has has several tactical tweaks.

Is Borna Barisic Rangers most valuable player?

No

Not only has his individual form been excellent but the partnership he has forged with Kent contributes to a huge amount of the positive attacking build up play that has seen the Gers drop points just once this season.

He is an integral part of a defence that has yet to lose a goal domestically and to replace him would be one of the most difficult tasks that Ross Wilson would have as Sporting Director, the conversation when Leeds phoned up to make their bid wouldn’t have been a very long one.
