BBC Scotland will pay homage to the late, great Walter Smith is a special documentary to be broadcast on Thursday evening at 9pm.
Titled ‘Walter: A Life in Football’, the film will chart the life, times and career of the legendary Rangers and Scotland manager with commentary and reflections from many of his peers and players who he led, leaving a lasting legacy and a transcending respect.
The football fan, the family man, the friend.

Sir Alex Ferguson is set to feature significantly in the programme, with contributions from the likes of Richard Gough, Brian Laudrup, Graeme Souness, Wayne Rooney and David Weir to name but a few.
It will also highlight the contribution that can be made by the Beeb toward Rangers, despite the ongoing and unnecessary aversion that exists between the two organisations at present.
This doc has been highly anticipated by many Rangers supporters since the trailer first appeared a few weeks ago and now on the eve of the new year, we can all reflect on times past and those special moments delivered by an icon – a legend whose impact and legacy will remain immortal at Ibrox.
This one is for you, Walter.
