The anticipation is building on the eve of the start of another season at Ibrox.

Despite the postponement of the unfurling of the league flag until September, Rangers will get a true blue champion welcome from the supporters in attendance tomorrow.

Around 23,000 fans are set to cheer their heroes – the biggest crowd since the pandemic struck – in what promises to be a day of celebration.

Beyond acknowledging last season’s triumph, tomorrow is essentially about a new challenge and the start of the title defence.

The likes of John Lundstram and Fashion Sakala will be wanting to create their own glories, but as well as that, several players will have the chance to play in front of the fans at home for the first time.

Livingston will come to Ibrox looking to frustrate with the hope of nicking something from the game but if Steven Gerrard’s side can replicate their performances of last weekend against Brighton and Real Madrid then there should only be one outcome.

There is a buzz around the fanbase at present, with everyone raring to go.

Soon after the Premiership opener comes the start of the Champions League qualifiers – with a lot to look forward to, the games will come thick and fast right up until the September international break.

55 is in the bag and the great memories are secured, last season and the historic success has been accepted for what it was.

Now, everyone at the club can look forward to more and pushing on to strengthen Rangers place as Scotland’s premier club.

The action is about to begin, we welcome the chase!
