Madjid Bougherra has promised not to lose the head again after Walter Smith and Sasa Papac publicly dressed him down for his outburst on Saturday.

The defender refused to back down after Dougie McDonald gave a late penalty against him – which Allan McGregor subsequently saved – and he was eventually dimissed after receiving two yellow cards for dissent.

Sasa Papac has stated that he can’t do this again and Walter Smith made the player go to the referees office after the game and apologise.

It’s good to know that at Rangers, sportsmanship and good-behaviour is always encouraged, and any breach of these codes results in punishment.

Maybe our East-End neighbours should take note?

….but who will now partner Weir against Killie on Sunday?
