No hassle, no fuss, just put the ball in the net – that is the Kemar Roofe way.

The Jamaican international was a bit late to the party on Sunday but he would not be denied his moment in the spotlight thank to his typical movement and anticipation, to secure Rangers sixth goal of the game aginst Motherwell in the 1-6 rout.

As is now customary, Rooe likes to get creative on his Instagram account in terms of sharing videos and graphics of his and Rangers exploits on the pitch.

Sunday was no different and he even had a laugh at the expense of the opposition with the caption, “Back gate was open”.

His tap in came thanks to his awareness, after a Jack Simpson header from the corner. The ball looked to be going in but strikers like Roofe don’t and won’t take chances to wait and see so the former Leeds and Anderlecht man made sure by stroking the ball home.

Simpson was clearly gutted that his chance to claim a goal was denied but he will be happy enough to have got some gametime in what was clever management from Steven Gerrard.

For the forseeable future, Simpson has to be ready to play therefore where possible, he should get minutes on the pitch.

As for Roofe, the hat-trick for Fashion Sakala won’t have gone unnoticed and it should result in the levels being increased as the competition increases up front for Rangers – that can only be a good thing!
