The Rangers line-up to play Hearts at Tynecastle today has been confirmed and it is a bold one!

Six changes have been made from the side that started in Lyon on Thursday as several big hitters return for this mammoth Premiership clash.

Here is the Gers team for the capital clash:

Allan McGregor – James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Calvin Bassey, Borna Barisic – Glen Kamara, Scott Arfield, Joe Aribo – Fashion Sakala, Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent

On the bench today, we have:

Jon McLaughlin, Nathan Patterson, Jon Lundstram, Steven Davis, Juninho Bacuna, Scott Wright, Ianis Hagi.

Intent
Attack is clearly the plan for today, with a team line up that will take the game to the home team.
Previously, it would have been expected for Rangers teams to be a bit more conservative but that is far from the case today with GvB’s intent made clear. It could be argued that a ‘front five’ has been deployed with Scott Arfield’s inclusion giving an added attacking emphasis from the middle of the park.
The new set-up means Gers full-backs are pinned ten yards deeper, with alternating forays forward. The likes of Arfield and Joe Aribo will be expected to get beyond Alfredo Morelos up front with Ryan Kent and Fashion Sakala bring the width.
This is van Bronckhorst’s toughest domestic test yet but one that can provide further momentum and confidence as the team go through the gears under the new regime.
Hearts are also certain to attack so this will be a lively encounter, on and off the pitch, hopefully concluding in another three points for the champions.
Kick-off is at 12 noon.
