Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has been sent off early on against Aberdeen at Pittodrie today, leaving fans absolutely fuming with the decision from referee Kevin Clancy.

Just 12 minutes into the game the Colombian was judged to have kicked out on defender Scott McKenna, with Clancy and/or his assistant left in no doubt he deserved an early bath.

It was clearly a harsh decision, meriting a yellow card if anything. It was a petulant, nothing incident that now threatens to ruin the entire match because of the officials’ rush to dish out a straight red card.

Supporters have been left furious by it all, believing that the referee has given their team a huge mountain to climb.

Just under 80 minutes is a long time to play with a man down and if Steven Gerrard’s side now get something out of the match it’d be a great achievement.

At time of writing, the match is poised at 0-0.
