Daniel Bachmann might not be a name we’re particularly familiar with and it seems as though it is going to stay that way this summer.

An Austrian goalkeeper, he had claimed via the Scottish Sun that he was in talks with our club amid the chances of a potential move to Ibrox.

However, whether those talks had happened or not seems academic now as he has told the London Evening Standard that he is going to try and stay at Watford and fight for a spot.

The Hornets have Ben Foster and Heurelho Gomes could also sign a new deal there so he will have a battle on his hands, whilst our goalkeeper situation might need to be looked at.

I’m not seeing he’d be the right one but Allan McGregor is getting no younger and Wes Foderingham, in my eyes, must be frustrated at the lack of game time and want a move.

Let’s see how Steven Gerrard looks to play it.
