This evening, Alfredo Morelos posted a picture to his Instagram account which appears to show him in a hotel room.

You can see from the image, he is wearing this season’s training gear, as well as an exit sign on the wall.

It would all but confirm that the Colombian international is now in a period of isolation after returning from his homeland, a current ‘red list’ country, following his participation at the Copa America in Brazil.

At that point, there may have been elite sports/bubble exemption for Morelos and his teammates but due to his holiday, at home after the tournament, he is now subject to standard quarantine rules, as dicatated by the present circumstances.

A 10 day hiatus for Morelos would mean that he will not be assessed by the Rangers coaching staff until next weekend, in between the Malmo games and the second Premiership game of the season, away to Dundee United.

The Colombian will need to hit the ground running to get back into the good books of manager Steven Gerrard, with everything else that surrounds the Gers frontman, including speculation on a potential move away from Ibrox this Summer.

For now, the player’s immediate priority has to be working on his fitness as much as possible, in quarantine, then stepping up preparations when he can rejoin the squad.

As always, there’s never a dull moment when The Buffalo is involved.
