According to the Daily Record, Eros Grezda seems set to stay and play with the Rangers Colts in the Challenge Cup this season, rather than get anywhere near the first team.

Signed only last season, the player arrived for a significant fee and ended up on a fairly long contract – it still runs to 2022.

Indeed, when other players were let go at the end of the window, the compensation it would have taken to see Grezda do the same, meant that financially it wasn’t viable.

The plan was earlier in the window, with that in mind, that someone would actually sign him for a fee to help us cut our losses.

That, though, did not happen and after that setback, he now seems set for a spell in the wilderness with the Colts, nowhere near good enough to play in our first-team.

It’s a shame for him, but the harsh reality is that he’s not been good enough for us.
