Having just caught up on the speculation linking former England striker Darren Bent with a move to Ibrox – speculation caused by his own interview with Talksport it must be said – whilst as said, I really can’t see a deal coming off here, even though I can see him doing a short-term job for Rangers.
It seems that fans themselves are mixed when it comes to the potential for a deal to be done. His goal scoring record in England can’t be questioned with over 200 goals across his career, but he did only find the net twice for former loan club Burton Albion in 15 appearances in the second half of the 2017/18 campaign.
He's a free agent having been on loan to Burton Albion and having turned down a pay per game deal.
We need as much fire power up front as possible. He may well fit the bill as a squad player with such a busy schedule ahead.

Pay as you score… goals = money. Otherwise no chance, he looked finished years ago! Doesn’t bode well for “pea head” though ????

A free transfer is always good given that the wages aren't out with affordability. We are competing on 4 fronts so can do with as much cover as possible.

pay as you play deal woud be only acceptable outcome here, we are light on strikers but even still a PAYP deal only

He’s 34 years old he’ll just be here for a season then fly off to America or China

As long as we aren't paying silly money then bring him in.

As can be seen in the above social media comments, there are a few camps in terms of those who think he could do a job as cover, but equally, those who feel his best days are now behind him with money coming heavily into the equation.
Quite surprised actually as I thought more would’ve been on board with this.
