Some Rangers supporters are keen to see James Tavernier taken off of penalties after missing another one against Kilmarnock on Saturday.
The captain has now missed two of his last three spot-kicks after missing out on the chance to send Rangers through to the next round of the Scottish Cup yesterday.
Had he converted, his effort would have been enough to progress to the Quarter Finals from an otherwise dour 0-0 match.
Up to this point he has shown remarkable consistency from the spot, scoring 11 times this season alone.
It may be harsh then for Steven Gerrard to remove him from penalty duty, but are goalkeepers in Scotland becoming too familiar with his process?
Given he is taking and scoring so many, ‘keepers can study up on where he likes to place them and it could be the case that is now having a detrimental effect on conversion.
These fans took to Twitter this weekend to discuss the issue…
Personally, I think Tav should be off pens now. We’ve had a lot of penalties recently meaning it’s giving keepers a lot of footage when studying him and he’s likely becoming easy to read. Aberdeen GK nearly saved last week’s as well.

Totally agree. Even the ones he scores the keeper quite often nearly gets them. Not convincing enough for me.

Tav badly needs taken off set pieces, I’ve said it for months now. His free kicks are absolutely dreadful now, his penalties aren’t that good.
