Aberdeen ended their run of ten games without a win by seeing off Hibs at the weekend but will come to Ibrox with most of their defence missing.

With Andy Considine and Mikey Devlin already out, Declan Gallagher and Calvin Ramsey now face an extended period on the sidelines, Matt Kennedy and Jack MacKenzie adding to Stephen Glass’s woes, the Aberdeen gaffer revealing after the game that we could see a few players out of position in mid-week, as reported by The Daily Record:

“We need to patch up what we’ve got and go to Ibrox and we’re ready to roll.

“We had to reshape the team, throw bodies on and players had to play in positions that are not natural to them so that side of it was part of the win.”

Rangers have been threatening to give someone  a hiding recently, a slow start against St Mirren ending with 19 attempts at goal, once this team finds it’s shooting boots we should see an end to the nervy one goal wins.

We should have too much for Aberdeen if we play with the same intensity as we have seen for long periods of some of our league games, the frustration at not yet seeing a 90 minute performance isn’t quite a cause for concern but we do seem to be conceding goals even when we are in compete control.

The good thing is that against Hearts and St Mirren the goals we’ve lost haven’t been down to a structural error or a problem with the defence that needs to be sorted – Aberdeen will, of course, raise their game but a fast start and an early goal could make it a long night for Scott Brown and his new team-mates, here’s hoping anyway.
