Rangers picked up their first league win under Steven Gerrard at Ibrox on Sunday, overcoming the challenge of St Mirren with a 2-0 win despite going down to ten men in the first half.

Alfredo Morelos opened the scoring with a calm and composed finish 14 minutes into the match, before Connor Goldson headed home to give his side a two-goal cushion ten minutes later.

That cushion may have been needed after Ross McCrorie was sent off shortly after, leaving Rangers with plenty of hard work for the remainder of the match in order to secure the result.

Fans were pleased with the performance and had particular praise for the Colombian striker, who was in sparkling form just days after also impressing against Maribor.

He’s definitely looking back to his best and may even be producing the best displays yet in Rangers colours.

Supporters believe much of that is due to Steven Gerrard’s influence, taking to Twitter to share their thoughts on the striker’s development so far this season…
