Rangers made it five wins in a row in the Scottish Premiership today after Jermain Defoe’s goal was enough to secure all three points against Hibernian at Ibrox.

Steven Gerrard’s side are now carrying serious momentum into next week’s match at home to Celtic and will fancy their chances of upsetting the league champions in the last derby of the season.

Fans are becoming increasingly pleased with the performance of certain players and nobody is getting more praise than Steven Davis in the first-team right now.

The Northern Ireland international recently signed a one year deal to stay at the club next season and on today’s evidence it was a brilliant bit of business.

He was imperious throughout, dominating midfield tussles and showing classy composure when moving forward with the ball.

The veteran was also the man who assisted Defoe’s goal.

Rangers supporters can’t get enough of him right now and took to Twitter to share their thoughts on his Sunday performance…

  • Need I say I told you so!! Class is permanent. SD hadn’t kicked a ball in earnest for six months when he arrived!
With a full preseason under his belt he’ll be a top performer in the team which wins the title!
    Keep believing!

  • The doubters have been proved wrong and there were plenty to malign him. Class is permanent and Southamptons loss is Rangers gain

  • Steven Davies
Hope he produces the same performance next Sunday!! Brilliant display even under pressure he still makes a pass, great to watch !!
