Rangers fans are in favour of signing Brentford midfielder Lewis MacLeod in January after he was linked with a return to Ibrox last week.

The Scottish Sun were amongst the outlets reporting that both the Gers and Leeds United were monitoring the 24-year-old after he refused a contract offer to stay with the English Championship side.

With his current deal expiring at the end of the season, it gives teams an opportunity to pick up him up for free next summer for on the cheap in the upcoming January transfer window.

A product of the Rangers academy, a return would be interesting now that he’s a few years older and has some decent experience under his belt, despite injury problems hampering the majority of his Brentford stay.

Supporters certainly appear keen to pursue such a move, with 60% of respondents to a poll we published at the weekend believing that the club should make a move for the player.
