Rangers are interested in bringing Maritimo midfielder Josip Vukovic to Ibrox as the summer transfer window draws closer, according to Calciomercato.

The outlet reckon that Vukovic, who has a market value of £360,000 according to Transfermarkt, is also being chased by Serie A side Lazio and English Championship outfit Aston Villa.

The report comes as speculation continues surrounding the future of current Gers midfielder Graham Dorrans, who Football Insider say is on the verge of an Ibrox exit after a decision made by the Rangers hierarchy.

Dorrans has managed just 23 appearances in two seasons at the club, missing almost the entirety of this term due to a knee injury.

With a year left on his contract, Rangers are said to be preparing to cut their losses with the former Scotland international.

Given Vukovic plays his football in a defensive midfield position, is Steven Gerrard preparing for life without Dorrans by earmarking the Croatian for a move to Scotland?

There is likely to be a lot of movement in and out of Ibrox again during this transfer window, even if it’s not quite at the level of last year’s revolution.
