£10.8m-rated star opens up on his desire to play alongside Rangers man

Colombia striker Falcao believes he can form a deadly international partnership with Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos after working with him during the international break, as reported by The Daily Record.

The 33-year-old football icon is currently in Asia with his national side, joined by Morelos, as they step up their preparations for this summer’s Copa America tournament with matches against Japan and South Korea.

The first of those came on Friday, with the £10.8m-rated Falcao scoring the only goal against Japan in a match where Morelos received his second senior cap.

The Monaco and Colombia captain is now looking forward to playing alongside the Rangers star more.

As quoted by The Daily Record, he said:

Alfredo is an intelligent player and you could see that when he came on as a sub. We have done a lot of work on the attacking side of the game and it helps when you have a player of Alfredo’s quality to bring on.

I think he has really grown as a player by competing in a tough European league. We have a lot of players who are very professional and Alfredo is certainly one of them.

We’ve had a few days working together and already we have formed an understanding.

The important thing for us is to build steadily towards the Copa America because we are very confident we can make a big impact in it this summer.

It’s clear that Morelos is now embedded in Carlos Queiroz’s plans for the upcoming summer tournament, which will be in no small part thanks to his incredible 29 goals for Rangers so far this season.

The 22-year-old’s stock is very much on the rise and Falcao isn’t the only Colombian icon to lavish praise on the Gers man recently, with James Rodriguez declaring him the future of football in the country.

It’s an exciting time not only to be Morelos, but a Morelos fan, and I can’t wait to see him back in action for Steven Gerrard’s side.
